Grand Rapids History
Gerald R. Ford Airport has been making lots of headlines lately.
And it made me think, what’s some interesting history about that place out in Kentwood…
Here’s what I learned:
West Michigan made its place in history nearly 99 years ago when Stout Air Services launched the nation's first regular scheduled commercial flights from Grand Rapids to Detroit.
Back in 1926, a one-way ticket cost $35, which is around $624 today. So next time you fly or go to the air port, remember it all started right here at home.

Kentwood is getting a new learning center. Marvelous Kidz Learning Center is a reasonably priced care center that accommodates children from 6 weeks to 11 years old with not only social, but also STEM education.

A chili dog contest is kicking off in Midtown. Six restaurants in the Midtown Neighborhood are hosting a friendly competition to determine who has the best chili dogs.
