Downtown Detours

Heads up, folks. A long-term detour is coming to Downtown—Division Ave. will close between Fulton St. and Michigan St. starting Monday and won’t reopen until November. Why so long? Crews are replacing aging underground infrastructure that hasn’t been updated in decades. Expect delays and plan your route accordingly. | Read more about the project here

Grand Rapids Trivia (ANSWERED)

Last week, we asked you what year was the “La Grande Vitesse” at Calder Plaza built. And over 77% of you got the answer correct!

The structure was built in 1969. It was built by Alexander Calder — the name is a French phrase that translates to “The Grand Rapids”.

The artwork was commissioned by the city of Grand Rapids as a part of its 1967 urban renewal initiative.

The more you know! I look forward to sharing more GR Facts for our upcoming trivia features. 👀
