The Best Beer City In the USA

We are almost there folks.

Grand Rapids has been nominated as a finalist in USA Today’s (drumroll please) best beer city in the country.

There are 19 other cities on the list of finalists — Chicago, Columbus, Ohio, Milwaukee, Austin, Ashville, and a handful more.

Whether you’re a beer enjoyer or not, help Grand Rapids bring another title home by voting here.

Nonprofit

Local organization supports teachers

A Grand Rapids nonprofit is helping give teachers a break. The Storehouse of Community Resources is located at 4411 Plainfield Ave. NE provides teachers the chance to get their students the supplies they need without paying for them — all thanks to the help of local and statewide donors. | Read more about the free supplies store here

Local Business

Creston grocer Kingma’s is expanding

Kingma’s Market is expanding. The 80-year-old Creston neighborhood grocer is launching the next phase of its $1.5 million renovation project to expand the store’s interior space and parking lot. The project will kick off this spring and be completed sometime later this year. | Learn more about the expansion

Health

Corewell completes its high-tech training facility

Corewell has opened its high-tech medical training facility. The largest hospital in Grand Rapids just got a little more techy— adding a 10,000 sqft training facility with classrooms, virtual reality, simulated patient rooms, and a bio skills lab. Do I expect you to know what any of that means? No. But you can be sure it’ll help medical professionals better serve our community! | You can learn more about the upgrades here
