Warm for the Winter

Courtesy: Transfigure Print Co.

As winter approaches, Transfigure Print Co. is bringing back its free coat rack (along with other warm wearables).

Their locker says "take a coat, leave a coat" because this thing isn't funded by one person. It takes a community.

Located at 2221 Plainfield Ave NE, Transfigure keeps a small pantry set up for public access, alongside a Naloxone box.

The coat rack has helped give out hundreds of winter gear items, on top of thousands of dollars worth of food and goods from the pantry.

They're looking for donations now-- find out more about what they're doing and what they need here.

Spooky Houses Around Town

Tired of looking at leaves and hoping for Halloween haunts?

Over the weekend, I found a list of 100+ homes decorated all out for the holiday. Located all around Grand Rapids and other parts of West Michigan,

The best part of the map?

The list is interactive. While you're planning your drive, click on each dot on the map to see the house that's there. If you find one you like, give it a heart; you'll be able to find it again in the map and list section when you hit the road.

Community

While they've received a mix of excitement and absolute avoidance of the idea, someone is trying to organize a GR Redditor meetup.

While it's a good-faith effort for the community... It's Reddit.

For many living in a digital age, especially as part of an online forum, the opportunity to come together could be a neat trade-off from texting.

59 upvotes say it might happen, but what do you think? Would you (or will you) go?
