Previously, Vintage Charm’s only Michigan location was in South Haven. The woman’s clothing and accessory shop announced it will be opening its tenth shop this summer on Wealthy Street.

Closing

Bruce Tuttleman, owner of F. David Barney Clothiers, is retiring and closing up shop. His menswear company has been a mainstay of the Ledyard Building for 47 years.

Updates

Fika, a vegan and gluten-free coffee and brunch spot, celebrated its 1st anniversary. The Plainfield location is offering specials through the end of the week.

Last Mile Cafe opened its second location inside Boston Square’s Hub 07. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 1 pm.

Updates Coming to 28th Street

If 28th Street between Kalamazoo Ave and Division is part of your morning commute, you might have to factor in a few extra minutes come September. Improvements on the drainage system, pedestrian crosswalks, and road surfaces are set to begin this fall. Community members are invited to an informational meeting on May 21. See more details.

Hope Village Offers Tiny Homes

Mel Trotter has built ten tiny homes, with more to come, in response to the city’s housing shortage. The development, called Hope Village, gives people a place to live at an affordable price as long as they need. Houses range from 400 to 530 square feet and include a kitchen, bathroom, and laundry facilities. Check it out.
