Good afternoon, Grand Rapids. I’m LeQwane and this is Calder News!

Just wanted to give you a quick heads up that Friday’s issue will only feature events.

I’m predicting that I’ll be trying to sit back and relax after coming back from a food coma.

Realistically, the stretch between Thanksgiving and Monday is pretty chill outside of a load of Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

Let’s get into today’s updates.

Sullivan Field Restoration Gets Closer

The push to restore the West Side’s Sullivan Field is almost done! Fans of Valley Field have raised more than 90% of its $4.9M goal and need around $300K to finish its fundraising for the project. The park’s upgrades include restored stands, a new entrance and plaza, a refreshed dugout and concessions, and a small museum honoring local baseball history. The non-profit just launched a campaign that allows you to buy and engrave a brick that’ll be used in the park. | View park mock-ups/ Buy a brick
