Detroit Lions tour stopped in Grand Rapids

Last night the Detroit Lions “We Want More” hype bus made a stop in GR. The bus was met by a large group of fans located outside The Score bar on Northland Drive. What’s the bus all about? The tour bus is a way for fans to show support and bask in the team’s historic team. | View the crowd

Comstock Park post office to be renamed

The Comstock Park post office is getting a new name. Last weekend, President Biden signed a bill to rename the location to The Captain Miguel Justin Nava Post Office. Why the change? Recognition. Captain Nava was 1 of 5 U.S. Marines killed in a heli crash early last year — Nava grew up in Comstock Park, so this was a way to memorialize him in his community. | View more details

Talk Of The Town

Interesting happenings around town

❄️ World of Winter is starting soon

The largest winter festival in Michigan is starting on Friday. World of Winter will last for 2 months. And it’ll feature attractions, community art, live entertainment, and more. This thing is really the talk of the town because it’s estimated over 4.8 million people will visit Grand Rapids just to participate.

🌭 Where to find the Wienermobile

The world’s famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile (hotdog on wheels) is stopping in Grand Rapids for two days. On Thursday it’ll be at the 28th St. and 54th St. Walmart from 11 AM to 1 PM, and 2 PM to 4 PM. While on Friday it’ll be at the Grandville and Comstock Park Walmart from 11 AM to 1 PM, and 2 PM to 4 PM. Visitors can get free pictures, history lessons, and a limited edition “Wiener Whistle”.

⚡ The Rapid goes electric

The Rapid has added 12 new EVs to its fleet. The new additions are electric Go!Bus ADA paratransit vehicles. If you see one of the colorfully wrapped vans driving around, just know it’s for a good cause. The vans help seniors and those with disabilities have reliable transportation.
