Reserve Parking Downtown

Grand Rapids is rolling out a new parking reservation system that will let you book a spot in a city ramp before heading downtown for an event. The city approved a one-year deal with ParkMobile, and officials hope to have the new option live by the end of April. | Learn more

Michigan’s First Kid Mental Behavioral Center

Pine Rest has opened a new $98 million pediatric behavioral health center on its Gaines Township campus, adding 66 inpatient beds and what it says is Michigan’s first urgent care center focused on children’s mental health. The new facility will serve kids and teens from across the state, with inpatient care starting March 23rd and more outpatient services launching March 30th. | Learn more

Traffic

9 New Traffic Circles Coming

Grand Rapids is adding nine new traffic circles this summer to help slow drivers in neighborhoods where residents have raised concerns about speeding. Five are planned for the 2nd Ward and four for the 3rd Ward, with construction expected to run from June through August and each intersection closing for about a week during installation. | Here’s where they’re going

Local Brewery Gets Artsy

Looking for a low-key Saturday night plan?

Harmony Brewing is hosting a free drop-in arts and crafts night on March 28th from 9 to 11 PM, led by local arts group Hot Glue Creux.

There will be hands-on projects, DJs, board games, and a more relaxed late-night vibe, plus $12 pitchers if you want to make a full night of it.

Also, if you can’t make this one, the event is part of a monthly series happening on the last Saturday of each month
